Taxes

We are currently in the development process of our tax solution. Lodge Lovers will not pay your taxes at this time, but you will command all the tools and resources necessary to easily maintain compliance.

Now, you are able to input your required tax values and they will be added to the checkout total.

Lodge Lovers recommends the host do the following:

  • Host should find out what their state/country requires for taxes (%) and input them in the correlating fields on Step 3, Laws and Taxes. You most likely will not have a value for every input field.
  • Host should educate themself on the laws in their place's jurisdiction before listing the space. Most cities have rules covering homesharing. The specific codes and ordinances can appear in many places (such as zoning, building, licensing or tax codes). In most places, you must register, get a permit, or obtain a license before you list your property or accept guests.
  • You may also be responsible for collecting and remitting certain taxes. In some places, short-term rentals could be prohibited altogether.
  • All tax collected will be included in host's payout amount. Host's final receipt will detail the amount of taxes collected. This gives you precise records to remit taxes. Receipts can be found in the Dashboard's "Account" tab. On the right hand you will find "Transaction History" and click the receipt number to view the receipt details.

Note that each host is responsible for their own decision to list or book. Please make an effort to become familiar with the applicable rules before listing on Lodge Lovers.

By accepting our Terms of Service and listing your space, you certify that you will follow applicable laws and regulations.
